Nicola

I have been childminding since October 2008. I am a mummy of six, three boys and three girls. I have a Degree in Early Years Childcare and Education which I gratuated from in November 2013.

Daniel, my husband, works with us as a registered assistant. He works with us on days when he is not off doing his proper job...making yummy fudge.

Danielle

Danielle joined us in January 2014. She has level 3 in Early Years Childcare qualification.

When you start at Niccsi's House your child will be assigned a key worker, we will chat to you about who it is and what their role is. As Nicola is the registered childminder she will always oversee all the children but to enable us to provide the best one to one care, your child's key worker maybe Nicola or Dan and Danielle together ( they work in a team as they job share).

Students are never key workers but will be involved in observing your child and making observations as part of their learning experience here.

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, this is what all early years settings follow so whether it be a nursery, childminder or preschool. The EYFS is a play based curriculum where children learn through play. We tailer all our activities to individual children and follow their interests to ensure that they are having fun and enjoying their learning.

The EYFS is divided up in to 7 areas of learning.

The prime areas, are:

• communication and language

• physical development

• personal, social and emotional development

The specific areas are:

• literacy

• mathematics

• understanding the world

• expressive arts and design

If you would like more information on our key worker system or the EYFS, or absolutly anything else please do speak to us, we will be more than happy to explain it or provide you with more inforation.
